Day 12 – Norwegian Bliss Inaugural Transatlantic

It’s the final day of the Inaugural Transatlantic cruise on Norwegian Bliss.

Back to Day 11 Back to Main Review Page

We woke up just before 9am, despite the clocks going back an hour for the fifth and final time.

We managed to grab our breakfast before they closed down the first serving stations at 10. Then it was back to our stateroom to pack.

A massive pile of washing each and so many bits of paper to throw out!

We then headed off to take some pictures. It was sunny but with a chilly wind. Here is our balcony:

We headed up to a busy Spice H2O and found the drinks menu:

And the Mudslide with ice-cream!

Next, we headed down to deck 8 aft to find The Bake Shop:

I bought a couple of mini cupcakes – Peanut Butter and Red Velvet:

Chris didn’t think the Peanut Butter cupcake had much taste to it but I loved the Red Velvet cupcake.

They sell gelato in the same spot as part of Dolce Gelato but the glass was too steamed up to see the gelato!

The extreme aft on deck 8 is quite glorious:

And the Waterfront sofa area will be great in warmer climes:

We went back to The Atrium for a Starbucks before a siesta.

We took the opportunity to capture the room service menu which we never used!

Breakfast Service request form:

We had an early reservation at Cagneys Steakhouse for dinner.

Again, we were seated facing the aft wake view:

The menu arrived:

Chris chose the Signature Cocktail, The Sidecar, while I drank sparkling water:

For appetizers, Chris tried his luck with the Cheese and Vegetable Marmite while I ordered the Lobster Bisque:

The cheese and vegetable soup wasn’t really a favourite with Chris and there was no noticeable bacon in the biscuit. I really liked my Lobster Bisque though.

For entrees, Chris chose the Filet Mignon 8oz with Potatoes au Gratin and Onion Rings and I selected the Surf and Turf with Baked Potato and Glazed Carrots:

The steaks were good but not the best we have eaten at sea. Chris found his steak and potatoes too salty.

The dessert menu arrived:

Chris ordered the Raspberry Creme Brulee and I chose the Decadent Chocolate Fudge Brownie.

These desserts were below expectations – the Brulee was too sweet and the Brownie was not chocolatey or decadent enough!

After dinner we walked to The Atrium and had a light drink to recover. There was a live streaming of Beatlemania Live! from the Theatre so we finally got to see them perform – we stayed for half an hour as I really prefer the early songs.

Admittedly we have seen better tribute acts.

Next, we popped up to the District Brewhouse. There was only one beer left on tap after having 12 available after Halifax!

At 9:15pm we headed down to Q to see Camille Rae perform again. Chris was disappointed to discover they had run out of Lonestar in Q so ran back up to the District to bring back a proper beer!

Camille Rae were excellent as usual.

So we head back to our stateroom – not to sleep but to prepare to go past the Statue of Liberty just after 1am. And here she is:

We leave Bliss in a few hours after 12 wonderful days. The plan is to spend a few days shopping and find more beer (lol) before flying home to the UK.

So this is the last of the daily blog posts which we hope have been helpful.

For completeness, here is the Bliss Ocean Blue Menu and Bliss Le Bistro Menu – we didn’t want to eat at these speciality restaurants but they have changed from the Escape. Ocean Blue is more oyster rather than lobster based and there is an extra $18 charge.

These are the Day 12 and final Freestyle Dailies:
