Chris and I were on the Norwegian Bliss Inaugural Transatlantic cruise from Southampton to New York City. We posted pictures and information as we cruised.
Norwegian Bliss arriving in Southampton at sunrise on 21st April 2018.

Once onboard, we stopped at The Local, the Bliss version of O’Sheehans, to check out the new menu.

Here we tried the Grilled Cheese and Tomato and the All American Cheeseburger – both were delicious.

There were a mix of bar stools around the bar and atrium overlook and standalone seating and booths to the side.

Next, went up to deck 8 to find The District Brewhouse. Here, the menu had been redesigned:

It was a relaxing environment – we loved the photo booth in the corner!

We stopped by Margaritaville on deck 17 aft for some drinks. Nice area although weird that the jogging track went through the middle!

We sat through Muster Drill in La Cucina and headed up to the Observation Lounge for sailaway. It had been dull and overcast all day but the sun suddenly appeared! Wonderful to see the reflection through the floor to ceiling windows and feel the warmth!

We went back to our stateroom (a mini suite on deck 12 midships) to unpack a little and get ready for dinner.
We had booked into Q Texas Smokehouse BBQ for 6:30. It was pretty quiet – lots of seating, attentive waitstaff, and a stage for live country music later.

Pre-recorded country songs were being played over the sound system in the meantime.
There was a main menu, drinks menu and a dessert menu.

For appetizers, we selected Fried Green Tomatoes and Loaded Fries. They were very accommodating and we were able to ask for certain ingredients to be excluded.

For mains, we chose a Pitmaster Platter and Brisket with a side of Mac n Cheese.

We were new to Texas BBQ and the fact that the meat is prepared as dry rub. There were 4 types of sauces you could add to your dish.

We really liked the Brisket and Ribs and the cornbread had a nice kick.
For dessert, we selected the Mason Jar Banana Pudding and Warm Chocolate Brownies.

Both looked and tasted great but could have done with a larger portion of ice-cream with the brownie.
Everything we selected was covered by the speciality dining package.
Afterwards, we had drinks in The Atrium and people-watched The Majority Rules Game Show which was very funny. We were fading fast after our early start so headed back to our stateroom. The steward had left a delightful towel pooch on our bed – thank you Gleeson!
